We report on people working for positive change - in Latin America, North Africa, the Middle East and Caucasus, Central and South Asia. They want to de-escalate conflicts, empower women and minorities, protect people from exploitation and attacks by police and the military, and mitigate the damage caused by climate change. They enrich their homeland with music, dance, cinema, and literature.
The stories in our magazine are written and photographed by ifa alumni who are at home in these regions. Some have taken part in journalistic training and learned to tell interesting stories for readers all over the world. Many alumni also work as journalists on the ground. Often, the situation in their countries is reduced to a few irritating topics. Media houses hardly have the means to send reporters there. SHARE shows these countries and societies from unusual angles.
For reporting, we follow the rules that the ifa community has given itself (Editorial Values and Standards).
The training courses and productions for the magazine are paid for with funds from the German Federal Foreign Office.
